About 4-H Canada
4-H programming provides youth with opportunities to succeed through skills development and leadership experiences while being mentored by caring adults in safe, fun, and inclusive learning environments. The 4-H program provides positive experiences designed to support the development of resilient and healthy youth through fostering positive self-identity, self-esteem, responsibility, and a sense of achievement, by incorporating values-based programming in four areas of skills development:
- Community Engagement and Communications
- The Environment and Healthy Living
- Science and Technology
- Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security
Our DNA
Our mission
Developing life skills such as leadership, cooperation, responsibility and independence for the English-speaking youth of Quebec through skill development and achievement.
Our vision
We provide young people with a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where they can learn by doing.
Positive Youth Development
This approach enables young people to develop the skills they need to contribute, create, and exercise leadership throughout their lives, as well as the confidence, independence, and resilience that will support them on their journey.
The 4-H Core Values
The 4 “H”s represent our core values, shared by members, volunteer leaders, and the entire organization across the country.
The 4-H Pledge
The pledge embodies the ideals and primary goal of the 4-H program: to help young people grow into well-rounded, responsible, and self-reliant individuals.
I pledge
My head to clearer thinking,
My heart to greater loyalty,
My hands to larger service,
My health to better living,
For my club, my community,
my country, and my world.
The 4-H Motto
Learn to Do By Doing
Find a 4-H club
There are several 4-H clubs in Quebec for young people aged 6 to 25, offering them the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, public speaking abilities, and community involvement. And the best part is that everyone is welcome!
