How to Become a Volunteer Leader

To become a volunteer leader, several steps are required:

  • Volunteers must register with the provincial office.
  • Volunteers must provide a criminal background check for working with vulnerable populations*.
  • Volunteers must submit three personal references.
  • Volunteers must complete 4-H Canada’s Youth Safety training*.
  • Volunteers must complete Commit to Kids training or a recognized equivalent*.

* These requirements must be renewed every three years.

Those interested in becoming volunteers can email coordinator@quebec4-h.com
to begin the process.

Adults who have not completed the volunteer leader training or the vulnerable sector check may support club activities, but the presence of at least one trained leader and one screened volunteer is required.

Find a 4-H club

There are several 4-H clubs in Quebec for young people aged 6 to 25, offering them the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, public speaking abilities, and community involvement.
